Course objectives

The student will be able to:

Two phases: a breadth-first phase, and an in-depth phase.

The breadth-first phase covers in principle five components:

  1. Simple and advanced geodata models.
  2. Geodatabases and their design and use.
  3. Geostatistical models for inter- and extrapolation, feature extraction, uncertainty and error propagation.
  4. Remote sensing interpretation.
  5. Dissemination and visualization tools of geodata.

The in-depth phase will build on one of the breadth-first topics.

Type of education

This distance learning module will include:

  • writing a report
  • literature study

  • written examination
  • final project assignment
