Internship
Course objectives
The student will be able to:
- To apply in practice and test the theoretical and practical knowledge the student has accumulated in the first six modules, thereby contributing to the student’s internalisation of the syllabus and improving the student’s basis for graduation.
- To enable the student to acquire or increase technical experience, insight into business and social, among other skills.
- To give the student the opportunity to become familiar with a geo-information workplace.
Content
The internship allows the student to gain practical experience in a (geo-information) working environment. The internship contributes to the successful fulfilment of the needed knowledge and experience of an academic and professional GIMA graduate. It allows the student to expand his / her professional experience and creates a sound basis for graduation. The internship is carried out within geo-information companies, agencies and research institutes in the Netherlands or abroad. Following the completion of the internship the student will submit a report. The internship lasts a minimum of 6 months full-time or 12 months half-time.
Entry requirements
Letter of acceptance of the master programme Geographical Information Management and Applications and passed five of the courses GEO-GIMA 1 to GEO-GIMA 6.
